Introduction

The lacquerware is made of wood to make the shape of the object, then painted, and pearls, shells and other mother-of-pearl are cut and sewn by sewing the product is called Lackerware.

Najeonchilgi is an important part of traditional decorative art of Korea in which a skilled craftsperson called Najeon Chilgijang makes all kinds of lacquered goods inlaid with mother-of-pearl designs.
A good piece of Najeonchilgi needs advanced techniques of creating and inlaying good mother-of-pearl designs. The techniques of handling mother-of-pearl are largely divided into two categories, kkeuneumjil and jureumjil. The first of these is used to make all kinds of geometrical patterns with thin, straight mother-of-pearl strips. It involves a total of 11 different work processes including straightening bent mother-of-pearl pieces by ironing. The second is to create various shapes and images with strips cut off from mothers-of-pearl.

Ewha KOREA is a company founded by consulting with a master craftsman who is reluctant to lose Korean traditional arts. It develops and distributes contents using mother-of-pearl accessories, small furniture, jewelry boxes and other mother-of-pearl.
