Introduction

Seung-bum Choi, the author began to study feminism due to one of the his schoolmate’s word. “We have to learn. We don’t know it well because we are men.” Aren’t you upset looking a feminism wave of the world from last years? Choi is saying “Let’s join feminists. What you only lose is ‘Man Box’, and what you earn is the whole world.

Seung-bum Choi, the author began to study feminism due to one of the his schoolmate’s word. “We have to learn. We don’t know it well because we are men.” It has a strong reason the men have to be feminists. Feminism is close to men’s life and is able to free men as well as women. Choi has had question on Korean men and their’s culture. The culture is made up of military culture, strict order of rank, violences and dirty jokes with getting dead drunk. Many Korean men think honest talk and solidarity is only possible under the culture. Choi thinks women’s lives are oppressed but men’s are also weird. The question get solved little by little thanks to feminism.

What he talks is simple. He says the world changes fast when men changed. He suggest men to learn feminism and reflect on themselves. He warns men would fall behind otherwise. Choi’s story recommend men not to be outdated and to win the new world with women.

He feels hope seeing his students changed. Many students became friends now thanks to feminism. Once more he identifies his role is to make statements to male students and colleagues as a feminist teacher. Instead of standing on the side that only benefits me, standing on the side that benefits all of us might be the idea of feminism that we all need to learn now. The side that benefits all of us wouldn't be the world where only women are standing on.
