Yusin has been able to see non-human things since he was a child. Black, non-human things existed everything in the world, and once she realized what she was seeing, it only grew worse. Until, her mother had protected her.
On the day of her mother’s funeral, her half-brother Yuhwan appears in front of her. Yusin follows Yuhwan at his suggestion, who can see and feel the same things as her.
She followed her brother to Café Tree. Life in Café Tree with no black things in sight was more enjoyable than she imagined. Just when Yusin is growing used to her new life, a man appears in front of her. Yusin was forced to serve coffee to the man who appeared while Yuhwan was away, but as soon as he drank the coffee his head fell off.
Yuhwan comforts her by Yusin by telling her that the customer’s head will fall off if he drinks the wrong kind of coffee. After drinking Yuhwan’s coffee instead, the customer leaves Café Tree after saying he drank well.
The stories she hears from Yuhwan after are quite shocking. The café has not only human customers but also inhuman ones, and they show their inhuman characteristics if they drink the wrong coffee.
Her ability is connected to the bloodline shared between Yusin and Yuhwan, and Saheon, one of headless guests, is one of the beings that protect the land by suppressing paranormal occurrences.
As he is responsible for suppressing paranormal activity, he is in constant need of renumeration, and business trips and a delivery service are also being performed. In addition, the siblings also playa role in controlling the supernatural occurrences of the area, so they are in charge of most of the related tasks. In line with modern society, they also have a connection to the police, who inevitably mediate the monsters when they cause dangerous incidents.
As she works in Café Tree and continues to solve numerous cases both large and small, Yusin slowly becomes a full-fledged employee. In the meantime, Yusin hears rumors of a strange beast wandering near Seoul. Yuhwan’s friend and lieutenant, Jaehyun, steps up to investigate the strange case, and finds out that a mythical unicorn lion, which should not be able to appear in this world, is roaming freely. Jaehyun goes to Café Tree to announce his findings. Yusin tames the lost Nakwoon with her powers, and Nakwoon becomes a new member of the Café Tree family in order to win her favor.
Nakwoon slowly gets used to life at the café as time passes. Then, a story comes to Café Tree about missing persons all over the country. Small children, the elderly, young adults. Multiple disappearances regardless of the gender or age. Then Yusin, who was out on a delivery, is kidnapped by a man.
The man’s identity is Kang Cheol. He is a serpent monster who has been driven to madness after being unable to ascend due to the fact that Saheon broke his magic pearl a long time ago. He was sealed by Yusin’s ancestors but has somehow been released from his seal and is terrorizing the world. With Nakwoon’s power, Saheon succeeds in rescuing Yusin and the others who were kidnapped, but Kang Cheol escapes.
Yusin slowly gathers clues about Kang Cheol’s whereabouts and, in the end, succeeds in resealing Kang Cheol with the help of Saheon and Nakwoon, bringing peace to the area. In the epilogue, Kang Cheol becomes a customer of the café and the story ends.
